Vegas Baby, er I mean Happy New Year! December 30, 2005
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I’m off to Vegas with wife and friends, so I won’t be posting until I get back. I’ll be rubbing the baby belly for luck at the casino’s (Clakety Clak Clak) and rubbing elbows with the likes of Nicky Hilton at the party! Have a safe, happy and prosperous new year and see you on the flip side.

Father’s Log - Week 23 December 29, 2005
Well I have to say, Christmas was a blessing this year. It was one of the first relaxing ones I’ve had in a few years. Best thing was all the food, which was right up Robin’s alley. The little girl in her tummy is quite hungry and particularly enjoyed the roast turkey and ham. Much of the same, kicking is getting harder and Robin’s tummy is getting larger and harder. I’m really not used to seeing her like this, but I have to say she looks pretty cute as an expectant mom. I am, …

Old Granny Hardcore
During my morning reads, I came across an article on CNN which tells the story of a little old lady who spends 10 hours a day getting her adrenaline fix playing video games. I dug up this blog created by her grandson called Old Granny Hardcore.
Most of the game consoles have an online “experience” where you can not only see your adversaries from other countries but hear and talk to them as well. While it’s a great feature, often you’re plagued with pre-teens running about cursing and just being a nusiance. Nothing gives me …

Bermuda - A sad state of affairs December 28, 2005
It has only been since this summer that I have become a lot more politically aware. I’m not exactly sure what the trigger was, a subconscious signal due to me starting a new family, growing older or just unable to avoid all of the press lately. Regardless of the cause, the effect is that I am now keeping abreast of the issues affecting my Island and have found my voice in doing so. I guess it started with me making my first entry on A Limey in Bermuda back last September.
Usually at this time …

Please pass the Rudolph December 27, 2005
There’s nothing like tearing into a nice leg of reindeer after a long night of Christmas cheer. Goes great with milk and cookies, maybe some mistletoe as a garnish?
Just wait for this guy’s kids to one day realise what they are eating for Christmas….not enough therapy in the world.

Tracking Santa and Christmas 2005 December 26, 2005
I love Christmas, it’s such fun time of year. Over the years I have found that it’s at it’s best when you are young and waiting for Santa, or if you have a child(ren) in your life and can’t help but get swept away with the excitment with them.
On Christmas Eve, one of the things I like to do, after all of the parties is to see exactly where Santa is in his journey. For years, Norad has been tracking Santa. This year I got to witness F16 escorts for the big …

Guild Wars Snowball Fight December 24, 2005
My friends and I have been playing Guild Wars for the better part of the year. Mike clued me in to a changes that was going on. The writers of the game have once again changed the GW world, this time with a Christmas theme. All of the towns are decorated with Christmas lights, giant candy canes and the likes. In addition to the henchmen, you can now hire out enchanted snowmen which lob snowballs. Speaking of snowballs, you are now able to enter a snowball mission, where it’s team against team. …

Twas the day before Christmas
Twas the day before Christmas,
and all through the house,
Tianna was excited
and running about.
Robin and I
all snug in our bed,
when hopes of 10 more minutes sleep
dashed from our heads.
When from up in the living room
there arose such a clatter.
With Tianna and the dog
and sounds of pitter patter
I arose from my slumber
and brewed the java stuff.
I made sure Tianna didn’t drink any
she was hyper-active enough.
I looked out the window
and smiled as I saw
The sky had cleared
and birds chirping above.
“Christmas is a day away!”
I jumped and exclaimed,
I turned to see my wife,
who called me a pain.
She realizes that I,
in my 32 years …

They are always listening… December 23, 2005
This time of year we are always telling our four year old daughter, Tianna, that “Santa knows and sees everything you do”, in order to keep her in line and be a good girl. However, what I constantly forget is, as a parent, I am also constantly being monitored. Every word, every action and every expression is being taken in and in most cases repeated by the same little four year old we are always reminding to be good.
I am sorry to say that I suffer from acute road rage and often blurt out various …
