Now pay us back! March 30, 2006
It looks as though our court system does indeed have the ability to find someone guilty. Terrance Smith, from the BHC was found guilty last night of 42 counts of fraud, all in all guilty of stealing 1.2 million from the rest of us hard working tax payers.
I’m much more interested in the punishment however. This is what I would suggest. Sell his house on T-Street and put all the money into economical housing for those in need. Then for Mr. Smith’s 10 year prison term, it should be spent hard labour making affordable housing, something that he was charged with in the first place. Lets hope the punishment fits the crime!
Update: Crown applies to confiscate Smith’s assets
Update: Smith preparing to appeal verdict
Update: Capital-G Bank to reposses Smith’s house!
