MYT Engine April 17, 2006
While waiting for Robin and Tianna this weekend, I did a little surfing on the web. I came across this revolutionary engine, which boasts a 20:1 output. In layman’s terms, it’s an engine which weighs 150lbs which can provide 850HP. Current engine specs for the same output weigh in at over 3,000lbs. I don’t know how it does in terms of fuel consumption, however with a much lighter engine, you will certainly use much less fuel to get to where you need to go.
So far the inventor has built a prototype, but I have yet to see if it’s been tested in a live application, and using a hand crank doesn’t count as a live test in my books. There are several demonstrations online for anyone that’s interested.
All in all pretty interesting. If this does work, it can completely redesign the makeup of the internal combustion engine, which has remained fairly static for quite some time now.
