Cruise Ship Runs aground! June 7, 2006
Apparently the Norwegian Crown has run aground on the rocks between Spanish Point and Dockyard. While attempting to leave Dockyard for St. Georges a sudden squawl took her by surprise and ran her aground on the rocks. From what I heard, she is hard aground with the bow coming out of the water. Tugs are attempting to drag her off, but with the tide receeding, this may not happen until the next high tide at 6:26pm, or there abouts…..
Hey it’s one way to get more ship tourists to stay here longer. All jokes aside, I hope all goes well….
