Transformers June 9, 2006
One of the most memorable things I can recall from my childhood in the 80’s was The Transformers. I LOVED that cartoon. I used to get my cousin Craig to tape the episodes for me as he had satellite tv. The show was awesome but one of my biggest regrets was not watching the original Transformers: The Movie. This was rectified about 3 years ago when my mate Rego rented it from Phase I video. Ah yes a childhood wish was finally fulfilled, cheesy filler music and all.
Since the 80’s the Transformers have refused to die. They have come out with several remakes. Most of them, the Japanese ones, are pretty slapstick and childish and just pretty sad, however Transformers: Beastwars and Transformers: Beastmachines were awesome (Except for the ending of Beastmachines of course).
I happened to run across a link to the new Transformers movie that is due out in July 4th, 2007. Not much information on it yet, but it looks as though this movie will be the most realistic of them all. Yes I’m pretty dam excited about it too! After all, I still have the original SoundWave (Complete with Razorbeak) standing on my computer desk. Soundwave being the coolest Transformer of them all of course.

Update: This site has information that Megatron is rumoured not to be a gun. Soundwave isn’t in it, but rather a 4 foot transformer is named SoundByte, and this is the first movie in a series of them….Please don’t suck!
