And the violence continues July 17, 2006
In what started out as a hopeful weekend after last Friday’s rally at city hall, ended once again in despair. Again we have another beating of two individuals of Portuguese descent in Joels Alley, by another seven individuals, but that’s not all. After speaking to a friend of mine, she informed me that there was another mini-riot at Docksiders on Saturday night, during, of all things, a fund raiser for a very sick person. “At one point in time there were fists flying everywhere, she said.
What are we doing to ourselves? What was SO important that we had to have a brawl during a fund raiser event? Again, where were the police patrolling the streets ESPECIALLY on Friday and Saturday nights? As this is the second issue at Docksiders in as many weeks, what are they doing about security in their establishment?
May be I should invite all of the MP’s to take a walk with me down Front Street at 3am next Saturday, so they can see the violence for themselves. You know do things like walking over a pool of blood outside Ozone Night club, watch some poor soul get trampled by an angry mob, or have your windshield smashed while trying to drive home. May be after seeing it for themselves, they might work harder to get more police on the streets.
