LaserTag March 30, 2008
Yesterday, the masses of Bermudians woke up to a completely normal Saturday, to partake in their Saturday chores, completely ignorant that a fight was waged to defend the very freedom many people take for granted. Two sides faced off in an epic battle to determine the future and the way of life we all know and love. Two sides fought through the wilderness of the Arboretum until only one side stood victorious.
By the simple fact that I am alive and writing this, my team mates of the black side stood victorious over a field of gore and horror as we retreated from the field where moments before invisible flashes of light ricochet overhead. The only thing that kept me alive were my finely honed regimental skills which allowed me to blend with the surrounding tree lines and make death defying leaps and maneuvers which would impress Rambo. For three hours I survived off the land, the casurena berries my only source of sustenance, I was one with the oleander trees. My skills and my knowledge of nature were the only things that saved me from the high tech warfare that raged all around me. At the end I got down on one knee and released a blood curling yell in honour of my fallen comrades.
…..and then I couldn’t get back up. It appears that my highly trained regimental skills proved too much for my decade old ex-regimental body. Literally every single muscle I know of, and some I didn’t, seized up on me as my body slapped the dirt and screamed out “Uncle, Uncle!”
Needless to say that this morning I feel a bit older than I am, but it’s a good pain; so I’ve been told. Pain aside, yesterday was truly wicked. 17 of my lunatic friends engaged in Triangle Connection’s Mobile Lasertag and it was awesome. Stuart does an excellent job in refereeing and coordinating the various laser tag games. If you’re looking for an interesting way to spend a few hours, I would suggest giving them a call (504-6669) or email at info@lasertagbermuda.com
Now I’m going to take a well deserved war hero’s bath, basking in my anomimity, my only satisfaction is in knowing that the peace has been preserved once again.
ow….finger cramp
