Housing the Police May 31, 2008
Apparently people are complaining that Minister Burch’s decision to purchase Horizons and use it to house police officers smacks of putting foreigners interests ahead of locals in the housing market.
While I’m not sure that Horizons would be the best area to put the new recruits, I have to agree with Burch in regards to missing the big picture of getting more police here. You can’t complain about there not being enough police and then complain when something is being done about rectifying that issue. If you do need to complain do it in a positive light and suggest an agreeable alternative at the same time.
Quite frankly, we need more cops on the Island. Crime is out of control, and while I do blame the current Government for letting the Island go downhill crime wise, I will not stand in their way for attempting to rectify the situation.
